Brawl in 3rd inning after McMullen "accidentally stepped on [pitcher Huck] Betts' right foot."  Betts was covering first on a grounder.  After being spiked, he threw the ball at McMullen.  Bohne, coaching at first, punched Betts.  First-baseman Oscar Roettger went after Bohne as both dugouts emptied.  According to the Minneapolis Tribune Betts, Bohne, Bagwell, and Roettger were ejected, but Roettger later said he was not ejected but left the game because his eyes were too swollen to see.  The Tribune reported that a dozen policemen were needed to stop the fight.  In the 4th, St. Paul's Bruno Haas jumped toward Cotter and tried to spike him, but Cotter sidestepped the attempt, and there was no incident.
